INTRODUCTION to
the AMMENDED FAST
A fast, whether
for health or religious reasons—or both—is designed
to purposely place your body in a state of self-maintenance,
setting up a series of events that will result in an internal
cleansing of the blood and organs. Isn't that ingenious?
Regard the
Amended Fast as a triggering mechanism that puts your body in
auto-clean mode. If you really get into it, the five day process
can become a special quiet time of personal cleansing
that brings something good to your life.
Prepare yourself mentally and physically for the five days of
the fast and you might discover benefits that go beyond the immediate
cleansing goals you have set.

OVERVIEW
This five-day fast is normally prescribed in conjunction
with the Detoxifying Colon Cleanse regimen developed by Dr. Hopkins.
Central to the cleanse is the ingestion of a proprietary colon
cleanse compound, formulated by Dr. Hopkins. The fast allows the
colon cleansing compound to reach maximum effectiveness at just
the right interval in the regimen timeframe.
On the sixth day of the Detoxifying Colon Cleanse regimen the
Ammended Fast begins. You are allowed to drink and eat, but eating
is reduced in gradually smaller amounts over three days to conclude
with a genuine fast, with no solid food at all. Then, over the
following three days solid food is reintroduced to a respectable
level of healthy eating. The rule for drinking water or juice
is simply "all you can handle" (proper
hydration the goal), with some exceptions on certain days.
It's hard work to resist the urge to eat when you are really hungry!
But nothing should become too difficult during the fast. Use some
common sense as you begin to fast. If you experience unusually
painful moments, or are so weak you cannot function, then the
fast must be altered immediately to make it a safe, worthwhile,
comfortable experience.

WHAT ABOUT EATING DURING the AMENDED
FAST?
You are allowed food during this fast. But, since the natural
cleansing of the body is working with the compound of the cleanse
regimen, you must eat only the healthiest of foods.
SOLID FOOD
• Eat raw foods (vegetables, fruits, some nuts) as much as possible.
• Eat no bread, no dairy, no yogurt (for the duration of the colon
cleanse regimen.)
• Eat no high-glycemic produce: corn, potatoes, pasta.
• You may eat carrots (normally high-glycemic.)
JUICES
• Look on the alkaline food chart for best vegetables juices to
drink.
GET THE ACID / ALKALINE
CHART
• Juices should be fresh-made juice as often as possible.
• Commercial juices should be 100%
with no sweetners added.
• Moderate amounts only of fruit juice are recommended (to avoid
too much sugar).

LIQUID
INTAKE
(HYDRATION)
Sufficient water intake, hydration, is essential
to proper health.
You must maintain proper levels of water, and in some cases, increase
intake above your normal amount.
• Normal hydration is one half your weight in ounces of
liquids per day
(water or clear, unsweetened (no artificial sweetners)
liquids containing no caffeine).
Formula: YOUR WEIGHT (in lbs) x 0.5 = LIQUID OUNCES
OF WATER per DAY
Example: 150 x 0.5 = 75 oz of water per day.
• IMPORTANT: Maintain above-normal hydration throughout
the 15 days of the colon cleanse regimen.
This amount compensates for the additional liquid
taken up by the colon cleanse compound ingredients.
Use the formula above, then add one or two 8
oz. glasses of liquid per day to the result.

Hydration with water is important, but just as important
is what kind of water you drink.
For the colon cleanse and ammended fast period: Water
= Bottled Distilled or Spring.
Tap
water, or bottled "municipal" sourced
water, can defeat the purpose of the cleanse.
•
If you use DISTILLED water,
make sure you are ingesting minerals through your supplements,
or stir in additives that provide
trace minerals missing from distilled water.

Lemon juice and essential oils
may also be added.

of everyday health. If you are taking cell food, continuing the
regimen during the cleanse will only do good, not harm.

There are 2 days of a liquid-only diet (juice and/or
water).
• If due to weakness you cannot make it through two days,
eat raw food the first of the two days.
Make every effort to get through
one full day with no solid food.

WHAT
TO DO IF YOU MESS UP!
To avoid scheduling conflicts and minimize unforeseen interruptions,
prepare for the weeks ahead. Make every effort to clear your schedule
BEFORE the five days of fasting. Discreetly notify friends and
family of the fact you might be indisposed for a period of time.
But,
if you mess up the scheduled fast (grilled steak and baked potato
at a forgotten mid-week dinner engagement) there is a way to recover.
